Briny Baird

Baird has been on Tour for a quite a while and he's seen his share of peaks and valleys. Baird earned just over $1.1 million in 2009, and while he did earn over $2 million in 2008, it's doubtful we'll see that again this season.

Baird was the model of consistency last year, but he failed to crack the top-three at any event. The consistency should again be there in 2009, as will the lack of a top-three finish.

If there is a tournament being played on the PGA Tour, then Baird will be there. How else can you explain someone that made nearly a million dollars, yet only had one top-10 and nothing higher than ninth? Baird has been a pretty decent player over the last five years, but he set the bar a little too high in 2003 when he earned over $2 million. He's not at that level.

Baird is a good player who hit the wall in 2004. The next year wasn't much better, but he started to make his way back in 2006. His all-round ranking in 2006 was 25th. Again, that does not always equate to success, but it's still good to have solid stats. Baird's upside is pretty high as he proved a few years back when he topped $2 million. Baird should continue his upward trend in 2007.
