As the top amateur in the world, Koivun lived up to the billing this week at the John Deere Classic. Koivun opened his week with a good but not great one-under 70, but he then responded with three straight sub-70 rounds of 64-68-67 to finish in a tie for 11th. Koivun really relied on his game off the tee and on the green to finish in the top-20. In fact, Koivun was so solid off the tee and with the flat stick that he ranked in the top-3 this week in both SG: Off-the-tee and SG: Putting among the field. There is obviously room for improvement, but Koivun showed everyone that he has the game to compete and challenge for a win on the PGA Tour.
