ANALYSIS
What a week it was for du Toit. While he did not emerge victorious, he energized a hometown crowd that hasn't seen a Canadian win their own Open in 62 years. He played in the final group on Sunday alongside Brandt Snedeker, and embraced a hero-like applause throughout the weekend. The 21-year-old has a lot to look forward to as a rising senior at Arizona State University, and with teammate Jon Rahm's departure for the pros, it is now the Canadian's team to lead. du Toit is the 60th-ranked amateur in the world, but with more performances like this, it won't be long before he eclipses the top 10.
