2026 Fantasy Outlook
Spieth was a top-10 player in the world for most of his first five years on the PGA Tour, but his game started to slide in 2018. He bottomed-out in 2020, but by 2021, he was back inside the top 20. His game fell off again in 2024 due to injury, and as of this past season, he's still working his way back. The question is, if he does make it back, how far back does he get? Can he be the top-10 player again? It seems unlikely that he'll reach those heights again, but he's certainly capable of getting back into the top 30. Spieth provides a pretty solid floor with a high ceiling for someone in the $3 million range. As such, he makes for a solid salary cap pick for the upcoming season. Read Past Outlooks
Paces RBC Heritage in SG: Putting
Spieth carded a two-under 69 on Sunday at the RBC Heritage to finish seven-under and tied for 33rd.
ANALYSIS
Spieth racked up four consecutive birdies on hole Nos. 2-5 during Sunday's final round, and he ultimately finished the week ranked first among the Signature Event field in both SG: Putting and total feet of putts made as the flat stick finally cooperated after recent struggles on the greens at the Masters and the Valero Texas Open. However, he lost a season-worst 6.72 strokes from tee to green at Harbour Town, where he hit just 26 of 56 total fairways in regulation en route to five bogeys and four doubles across four rounds. Spieth drops five spots to No. 37 in the FedExCup standings with the T33 effort on Hilton Head Island.

Spieth set the bar incredibly high in 2015 when he won six tournaments and pocketed over $12 million in earnings. He had some success in the years after, but he never reached those heights again. It's taken awhile, but the bar has been reset on Spieth, realizing that he's just not the guy that can win multiple majors in one year anymore. Even with the lowered bar however, 2024 was a major disappointment. A lot can be attributed to a wrist injury that he may have been battling all season. He finally decided to have surgery in August, and while his play is bound to improve, we simply don't know how long it will take to get healthy and then find his stroke again. Spieth is an interesting salary cap pick this season because he could take a while to heal and give you next to nothing, or he could play much better than previous seasons with a healthy wrist. All reports seem to be positive and he might be ready for the start of the 2025 season. If that's the case, he should be a solid salary cap play this season.
