2026 Fantasy Outlook
Rose turned back the clock in 2025 and had a very strong season highlighted by a few noteworthy performances. The biggest was his runner-up at The Masters in which he shot a 66 in the final round to force a playoff with Rory McIlroy. Unfortunately, Rose would suffer a playoff loss at Augusta for the second time in his career (2017). He cooled off over the summer before getting back on track towards the end of the season with a victory at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in a playoff over J.J. Spaun. That was his 12th career victory on the PGA Tour. While those big showings helped him run up his earnings total for the season to nearly $9 million, he did rank outside the top 90 in SG: Total. That's probably a little closer to his ability at age 45, and his earnings total in 2026 is very likely to fall around PGA Tour average. That said, he still has the experience to contend at the biggest events if everything is working. Read Past Outlooks
WD's from RBC Heritage
Rose has withdrawn from this week's RBC Heritage, Rob Bolton of PGATour.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rose will elect to skip this week's Signature Event after a very disappointing back-nine on Sunday at The Masters. Rose at one point held a two-shot lead, but once again came up short of putting on the Green Jacket. The 45-year-old is still playing some great golf this year and will look to continue his strong play in the rest of the majors in 2026. Michael Thorbjornsen will take his spot in the field.

Rose peaked at No. 1 in the OWGR in 2018 and he followed that season with a strong showing in 2019, but after that it was a rough few years. He found his form again in 2023 and he managed to play well enough in 2024 to remain a top-50 type player, but at the age of 44, you have to wonder how long he's got. His dip in 2020 could be attributed to the chaos surrounding COVID, but struggles in the years that followed are a bit of a mystery. Though he appears to have found his old form, the battle against Father Time will likely win out sooner than later. As such, his ceiling is more limited than it was just a few years ago, which makes for a tough sell as a salary cap candidate.
