2025 Fantasy Outlook
Spieth set the bar incredibly high in 2015 when he won six tournaments and pocketed over $12 million in earnings. He had some success in the years after, but he never reached those heights again. It's taken awhile, but the bar has been reset on Spieth, realizing that he's just not the guy that can win multiple majors in one year anymore. Even with the lowered bar however, 2024 was a major disappointment. A lot can be attributed to a wrist injury that he may have been battling all season. He finally decided to have surgery in August, and while his play is bound to improve, we simply don't know how long it will take to get healthy and then find his stroke again. Spieth is an interesting salary cap pick this season because he could take a while to heal and give you next to nothing, or he could play much better than previous seasons with a healthy wrist. All reports seem to be positive and he might be ready for the start of the 2025 season. If that's the case, he should be a solid salary cap play this season. Read Past Outlooks
Ties for 31st in Greensboro
Spieth closed with a two-under 68 on Sunday at the Wyndham Championship to finish seven-under and tied for 31st.
ANALYSIS
Spieth managed to gain over four strokes putting throughout his week at Sedgefield Country Club, but he ultimately ranked just T68 among the field in GIR percentage and T70 in driving accuracy. Nonetheless, he's now placed top-40 in back-to-back starts since his WD from the Travelers Championship in late June, climbing to 48th in the FedExCup standings ahead of the playoffs.

Spieth was maddingly inconsistent in 2022-23. He had solid chances to win at the API, Valspar, Masters and RBC Heritage early in the season, but was largely a non-factor over the last several months. Spieth's putting was better than he showed in 2021-22, but 76th is still not what we expect from a guy that has made more big putts than just about anyone over the last decade. His short game is always going to be among the best in the world, but he needs to find consistency with the ball-striking to get back to his winning ways. Consistent or not, Spieth is probably still able to post enough high finishes to land him in a similar position in earnings in 2024.
