2026 Fantasy Outlook
McCarty stormed onto the season by winning in his fourth Tour start in the fall of 2024, and he followed it up with a respectable year that included nine top-20s over 26 events. With that said, he didn't have the ascension that many peopled expected, and he only seriously contended once. The lefty's game is built more around precision than distance, and when you combine that with losing strokes on approach, a lot of pressure is put around your short game to pick up the slack. There's still plenty of time for McCarty to improve as he enters his prime years, and he's more than capable of having some spike putting weeks and contending on shorter venues. Read Past Outlooks
Barely qualifies for Signature Events
McCarty posted a seven-over cumulative score at the FedEx St. Jude Championship to finish tied with Ricky Castillo and Aaron Rai for 63rd.
ANALYSIS
McCarty entered the week 48th in the FedExCup Standings and needed to stay within the top-50 to qualify for the BMW Championship and earn an exemption into all Signature Events for 2027. He did not do well at TPC Southwind, going over par in all four rounds while ranking 62nd in SG: Off-the-Tee and second-to-last in SG: Around, losing 6.93 strokes in his short game, though he did rank eighth in SG: Putting (plus-4.52 strokes). Fortunately for McCarty, there wasn't a ton of movement on the bubble, with Keith Mitchell being replaced by Sungjae Im in the top-50. As such, McCarty will enter next week's BMW Championship 50th in the Standings, and he'll need a huge performance at Bellerive Country Club in order to qualify for the TOUR Championship.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
McCarty enters his rookie campaign with one PGA Tour win already credited to his name, having coasted to a three-shot triumph at the Black Desert Championship in October after earning a Three-Victory Promotion to the big leagues following a trio of Korn Ferry Tour wins in a short span from July's Price Cutter Charity Championship through August's Albertsons Boise Open. Given his late-summer dominance, he clinced the No. 1 spot on the KFT Points List, earning exemptions for the 2025 PLAYERS Championship and the U.S. Open. He also paced the KFT in putting average, scoring average, total birdies and consecutive cuts made this past season.
