Fishburn had a slow start to his rookie season, missing seven of his first eight cuts before he settled down to finish 81st in the FedExCup on the strength of nine top-25s across a 13-tournament stretch. Driving play is clearly the best part of the BYU product's game, as he ranked seventh in SG: Off-the-tee for the year. Fishburn's putting play also progressed as the year went on and his spike weeks on the greens often led to him being in contention. Fishburn fired a five-under 65 on Sunday at the Wyndham Championship to finish 13-under and tied for eighth place.
ANALYSIS
After making the cut on the number, Fishburn surged up the leaderboard over the weekend with back-to-back rounds of 65 that was highlighted by a bogey-free Sunday. He ranked 11th in SG: Putting and only dropped shots on six holes for the tournament. Fishburn closes the regular season in 95th place in the FedExCup Standings and will need to keep the momentum rolling this fall to retain his card.
