Sweden's Hedblom (nine-under) has a one shot lead over Spaniard Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano (66), Scot Paul Lawrie (70) and Italy's 17-year old Matteo Manassero (66) at the European Tour's Castello Masters, Valencia, Spain.

ANALYSIS
The field is largely European Tour journeymen lacking any player ranked higher than 85th. Spain's Jose Maria Olazabal, playing for the first time in several months, made the cut being tied for 44th at one-under. USA's Todd Hamilton tied for 64th for a plus-one position that was right on the cut line. Spain's Sergio Garcia ( one-over), playing on his home course where his father is the pro, missed the cut by one stroke in his first event after taking a self- imposed two-month sabbatical. Garcia says he's ready to resume competition with a refreshed attitude. We wish both Olazabal and Garcia success and good fortune.
