2025 Fantasy Outlook
A late T5 finish in Bermuda was enough for Ryder to barely hold onto a spot in the top-125 and maintain full playing status for the 2025 season. The negative was that he ranked 150th in SG: Total and missed over half his cuts. After a great putting campaign in 2022-23, he came back to earth on the greens ranking 122nd in SG: Putting. Ryder did have one of his better seaasons with the irons at 49th in SG: Approach and 23rd in proximity. There's certainly things he needs to work on, but Ryder is only one season removed from earning nearly $3 million on the PGA Tour. Expect more signs of life in 2025. Read Past Outlooks
T19 finish at Wyndham Championship
Ryder fired a four-under 66 Sunday in the final round of the Wyndham Championship to finish in a tie for 19th place.
ANALYSIS
The last two month for Ryder have not gone well. Outside of a T14 finish in California at the Barracuda Championship, Ryder has a T68 finish and four missed cuts dating back to the beginning of June. With that form and the FedEx Cup Playoffs surely out of reach, Ryder was looking for some type of form that he could bring into the fall season. For the week Ryder on average gained strokes in every strokes gained category and gained 1.87 strokes in SG: Tee to Green. While his putting wasn't the best, Ryder showed some form to build on, especially Sunday as he made five birdies and an eagle to go along with only three bogeys. Ryder leaves Greensboro ranked 108 in the FedEx Cup so he will have work to do during the fall season if he is to retain his card.

Ryder was not the most consistent golfer this season, but when he was on, he made it count. He first caught out attention at the Farmers Insurance Open in January, where he held the lead on Sunday only to falter down the stretch on his way to a T4. He popped up again at the Valero Texas Open where he finished T3. His play from there was spotty, but he found some consistency late in the season where he made eight consecutive cuts. Ryder is an interesting player in that his first five seasons on the PGA Tour weren't anything special, but this past year was much better. He's turning 34 this season, so he could be a late-bloomer, or this past year might end up being a fluke. The jury is still out on Ryder, which means he's no better than a yellow light in salary cap leagues.
