Simpson did not compete at the just-concluded Shell Houston Open. In his last start (at The MCI Heritage) he finished T53.

Simpson did not compete at the Masters tournament. In his last start (at the BellSouth Classic at TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth, GA), he finished T56.

Simpson has entered the Western Open on a sponsor's exemption, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Simpson hopes to make his return from a broken leg (suffered in a skiing accident) next week at the Buick Invitational, according to ESPN.com.
