Alker made the 36-hole cut but did not finish following a 5-over 77 Saturday at the RBC Canadian Open.

Alker has been trending well recently but simply had one trying round Saturday that included four bogeys and one double bogey to miss the Saturday cut after an excessive 91 players made the initial 36-hole cut.

Alker is back on the PGA Tour for the third time. He persevered through an up-and-down Web.com season last year, posting seven top-25s, including two top-10s, but missed four consecutive summer cuts and then trunk slammed at the first Finals event. Fortunately for him, he bounced back in the next two events, finishing eighth at the Boise Open and T18 at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship. In 22 PGA Tour events in 2014-15, Alter made more than $236K.

The 43-year-old New Zealander played full-time on the PGA Tour only once, back in 2003. He had a win and a second on the Web.com Tour to regain playing privileges, and is 20th in the opening priority rankings. This could amount to a final shot in the Big Show for the veteran, as making a name for himself at this stage of his career seems unlikely, to say the least.
