Nash registered five goals and six assists in 28 AHL games last season, but failed to suit up for an NHL contest. He is an unrestricted free agent at press time, so it appears any hope of him seeing NHL ice time is almost gone.
Nash, an undrafted player out of Kamloops (B.C) via Cornell University, had a successful debut season at AHL Hamilton, earning himself a two-game look-see at Montreal. He's a two-way defenseman with a nose for pinching and generating a rush, but can also use his 6-3 frame effectively. He's likely to open the year at Hamilton, but he'll be one of the first callups should injuries hit Montreal's defense.
