Pens two-year deal Tuesday
Drouin signed a two-year, $8 million contract with the Islanders on Tuesday, per Chris Johnston of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
Drouin made 43 regular-season appearances with Colorado last season, providing 11 goals, 37 points and a plus-4 rating. The 2013 first-round selection won't be insulated by high-end talent like he was with the Avs, but he has a chance to earn a top-six role with the Isles in 2025-26. The 30-year-old will certainly receive time on the power play, with the chance to work his way onto the No. 1 unit alongside players like Mathew Barzal and Bo Horvat. As such, Drouin could carve out decent fantasy value throughout the life of his new deal.

It was a career year in Colorado for Drouin, as he racked up personal bests in assists (37) and points (56) in 79 regular-season outings. It was a fruitful enough partnership that the two sides agreed to a one-year, $2.5 million deal this offseason. Assuming the 29-year-old playmaker can repeat those numbers this year, he almost certainly will garner more term on another deal in the future. For now, the winger figures to remain in a first-line role playing alongside Nathan MacKinnon - though that role could be challenged by Gabriel Landeskog if he can return from a long-term knee injury. In addition, Drouin figures to be a fixture with the top power-play group, making him a top-end fantasy target this season.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Expected to test market
Drouin is expected to leave the Avalanche this summer, Jesse Montano of Guerilla Sports reports Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Drouin will be one of the better forwards available in free agency after posting a total of 93 points over 122 regular-season games across the last two seasons. Part of that was due to his 31 power-play points as part of the Avalanche's man advantage, which is among the most talented in the league. Drouin also shot 19.6 percent in 2024-25, so he's likely due for significant regression, though that won't be a concern for any potential suitors looking to add to their top-six forward group.
