Healthy scratch Tuesday
DWinnipeg Jets
May 13, 2025
Stanley has moved past his undisclosed injury but will be a healthy scratch against the Stars on Tuesday in Game 4, according to Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press.
ANALYSIS
Stanley took the ice for pregame warmups prior to Game 3 on Sunday but didn't end up playing. He last suited up against the Blues in Game 6 of the first round. Haydn Fleury will continue to fill a third-pairing role alongside Colin Miller on Tuesday.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
2019
Stanley was a healthy scratch in 41 of Winnipeg's first 48 games in 2023-24 and ended up playing 25 regular-season games, picking up a goal, one assist, 40 blocked shots and 45 hits. He played in three of the Jets' five postseason games versus Colorado as he carved out a spot on the blue line. He is expected to challenge for a third-pairing role this season, battling Haydn Fleury and Colin Miller for the two spots. Stanley doesn't have much in the way of fantasy value, even if he becomes a regular in Winnipeg.
Stanley fell behind the curve in 2022-23, missing significant time with foot and lower-body injuries in the first half of the season. By the time he was healthy, the emergence of Dylan Samberg had cost Stanley his spot in the lineup for a vast majority of the rest of the year. Stanley has now recorded 20 points in 114 contests over the last three years, playing mainly in a third-pairing role. While he's still got the size and physicality to be an effective third-pairing defenseman, the chances of that happening in Winnipeg are waning. Barring a trade -- either including him or another defenseman -- he's likely to be a part-time option in 2023-24.
During training camp last season, Stanley was one of the final cuts to be sent down to the minors and will likely push for a spot on the 23-man roster this fall. The 21-year-old didn't wow offensively in 2018-19, as he managed just six goals and 16 assists in 73 outings with AHL Manitoba, but the organization isn't exactly stacked with offensive-minded blueliners following the departure of Jacob Trouba and Tyler Myers. The biggest question for team brass will be determining whether Stanley would be better suited playing huge minutes for the Moose or potentially watching from the press box in Winnipeg. If he does earn that roster spot, he will no doubt push fellow youngster Sami Niku throughout the 2019-20 campaign.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Injury might be significant
DWinnipeg Jets
September 26, 2024
Stanley's undisclosed injury might end up being worse than day-to-day, according to Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Stanley didn't participate in Wednesday's preseason game because of the injury. He recorded a goal, two points, 36 PIM, 45 hits and 40 blocks in 25 regular-season games with the Jets in 2023-24. He's in the mix for a spot on the third pairing, but missing a significant period might cost him that opportunity.
