2025 Fantasy Outlook
Ersson was once again able to command a majority of the starts for the Flyers, but his performance took a dip in 2024-25. He played in 47 games, earning a 22-17-5 record with a 3.14 GAA and a .883 save percentage. The Flyers carried three goalies for the bulk of the season, and all three netminders are under contract for 2025-26 as well. Barring changes in free agency, Ersson is projected to be the team's No. 1 goalie again, but he is far from a reliable option in fantasy. He'll play the bulk of the season at age 26, so this could be his last chance to prove himself as a capable NHL starter. Read Past Outlooks

Falls to Jackets on Tuesday
Ersson made 31 saves in Tuesday's 3-0 loss to the Blue Jackets.
ANALYSIS
The 25-year-old goalie got very little help from his teammates, and after Ersson kept Columbus off the board in the first period he couldn't do much to stop a Dante Fabbro blast from the top of the faceoff circle early in the second. Ersson has given up at least three goals in six straight starts, and if he's not between the pipes for Philly's regular-season finale Thursday against the Sabres, he'll close the books on the 2024-25 campaign with a 22-17-5 record, 3.14 GAA and .883 save percentage.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Ersson emerged as the starter for the Flyers in 2023-24. He got off to a solid start, but his play suffered as the season progressed. He was elite until Jan. 18 (.927 save percentage and 1.85 GAA) if you omit the 12 goals allowed in his first two outings of the year. After that, he posted a 3.23 GAA and an .876 save percentage in 31 contests. Ersson will split time this season with Ivan Fedotov, and that rest should help him avoid the rigors of a heavy workload. Consequently, Ersson could be a potential steal in daily formats where lightning in a bottle can deliver positive results. However, he may not be a suitable long-term option for fantasy managers if his consistency doesn't improve.

Joining World Championship roster
Ersson will link up with Sweden for the 2025 IIHF World Championship.
ANALYSIS
Ersson was definitely hit by the sophomore slump this year, as he went 22-17-5 with two shutouts and a career-worst 3.14 GAA. The 25-year-old netminder's struggles were certainly partially to blame on the lackluster team around him this past season. While Ersson will enter the 2025-26 campaign as the No. 1 option in Philadelphia, he will face challenges from Ivan Fedotov and Aleksei Kolosov for starts.
