Dealing with long-term injury
According to general manager Doug Armstrong, Tucker (lower body) would have been sidelined for the remainder of the postseason if the Blues had advanced past the first round, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Tucker was injured against the Jets in Game 4 of St. Louis' first-round series defeat. The 25-year-old logged one goal, four PIM and 12 hits over three postseason appearances. Armstrong did not provide any information with respect to Tucker's recovery timeline, so it's currently unclear if the left-shot defenseman will be ready for training camp in 2025-26.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Injuries among the Blues' defensemen opened up a chance for Tucker to make his NHL debut last season. He posted four points, 50 hits, 26 blocked shots and 31 PIM in 26 contests with the big club in addition to 21 points in 41 outings with AHL Springfield. Tucker is likely in competition with Scott Perunovich for a spot on the Blues' Opening Night roster in 2023-24. Tucker has less scoring upside but more of a physical edge -- with youth on his side, he's an upgrade over Roberto Bortuzzo and potentially Marco Scandella, too. There's a good chance Tucker sees some NHL action this year, but fantasy manager can wait to see if he makes the team first.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Could miss time
Tucker, who sustained a lower-body injury during Sunday's Game 4 win over Winnipeg, could miss some time, Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
While the exact nature of Tucker's injury isn't yet clear, the Blues indicated after Sunday's win that the defenseman may need some time to recover. If that's the case, Ryan Suter would presumably see additional playing time. The Blues tied the first-round series with Sunday's win, and the teams won't play again until Wednesday's Game 5 in Winnipeg.
