2025 Fantasy Outlook
For both the Avs and fantasy managers, Olofsson is a high-upside option heading into the 2025-26 campaign and only becomes high risk on the fantasy side if he gets taken too early in drafts and underperforms -- for Colorado, there is minimal risk considering he signed a one-year, $1.575 million deal that won't lingering long-term if he struggles. When in the lineup for Vegas last year, the 30-year-old Swede was solidly productive with 15 goals and 14 helpers in 56 regular-season games -- the problem was he couldn't stay in the lineup, serving as a healthy scratch periodically while also missing over a month early in the season due to injury. While Olofsson figures to start the year in a third-line role with the Avs, he could be a strong candidate to move up the lineup, which would significantly bolster his fantasy value. Links up with Colorado
Olofsson signed a one-year, $1.575 million contract with the Avalanche on Tuesday, per PuckPedia.
ANALYSIS
Olofsson's deal comes in just above the $1.075 million cap hit he secured with Vegas last season. Still, the 30-year-old winger provides the Avalanche with a veteran middle-six option. He's unlikely to be a big factor in fantasy initially, but if Colorado has poor injury luck again, Olofsson could find himself in a top-six role at times throughout 2025-26.

It's time for a change of scenery for Olofsson, as he was a frequent healthy scratch for the Sabres last year. Even when he did play, the 29-year-old winger struggled to produce, managing a meager 15 points in 51 appearances. It's a far cry from the player who reached the 40-point threshold in three of his first four seasons in the NHL. Much like the Golden Knights, who inked Olofsson to a one-year deal this summer, fantasy managers could try to buy low on the high-risk, high-reward winger, hoping he gets back to being a 40-point producer this upcoming campaign.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Candidate for top six, power play
Olofsson could get looks in the top six and on the first power-play unit during 2025-26, Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette reports Friday.
ANALYSIS
The Avalanche are looking for a replacement on the right side of their top power-play unit after last season's Mikko Rantanen trade. Olofsson isn't the only candidate to be tried in that spot, but his success as a shooter with the man advantage will earn him some looks. His chances in the top six could also come alongside Nathan MacKinnon if the Avalanche decide to spread talent throughout the roster rather than loading up one or two lines. A spot alongside MacKinnon revived Jonathan Drouin's career, so it could also work wonders if Olofsson ends up there for most of the year.
