Krog was sent back to Chicago (AHL) on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
He was a healthy scratch in two games after being called up to potentially add depth in the absence of Ilya Kovalchuk. Krog is a dominant AHL player, but his game simply hasn't translated to the top level.

The last time Krog got in a full season of work at the NHL level was back in the 2003-04 season with the Anaheim Ducks when he played 80 games, scoring 6 goals and 18 points. Last season with the Vancouver Canucks, Krog only managed to get into 4 games, and spent the rest of the season in the AHL with the Manitoba Moose. Krog will be a dependable call up for the Thrashers should the team be bit by the injury bug, but his days as a full time NHLer are behind him.
The diminutive AHL star is trying to break the Canucks' roster during training camp. The 31-year-old took home AHL MVP honors last season and could add a scoring jolt to the Canucks' offensive woes. Krog hasn't been able to translate his game to the NHL in the past, but any player coming off a 112-point campaign is worth a flier.
Krog has had some flashes of scoring potential in his time with Ducks but he has lacked consistency. Last year he played in Switzerland and Sweden and was scoring at a point-a-game pace. We expect him to be just a depth player with the Thrashers but if he manages to find himself on one of the top two lines things could change.
