Signed to add competition to training camp, Nieminen is a journeyman veteran that has played on the Avs, Penguins, Flames and Blackhawks. If Nieminen makes the Rangers roster this season, his role is somewhat unclear at the moment; however don’t expect anything more than a third or fourth-line cog that will occasionally get a DNP.
