Pisani inked a one-year deal with Chicago in August of 2010. This veteran is no stranger to the injury bug, but he is good for the occasional score or assist. With limited upside outside of the penalty kill, he is best viewed as a mere depth option for the defending champion Blackhawks in 2010-11.
Pisani has been battling the injury bug the past two seasons, playing only 94 games. If he can remain healthy, he does have some goal scoring ability as he has benn able to score 20 goals in those 94 games. Even so, he is nothing more than a bottom wing or a reserve in your fantasy league.
Pisani finished last season with 13 goals. He's never been much of a goal scorer and not someone who should be looked at in anything but the deepest of leagues.
Pisani is a decent player who play in various situations, but his offensive potential is limited. He usually lands in the 30 to 35 point range. However, he'll start the season on the DL due to ulcerative colitis. The team is hoping he'll return to action in late October or early November.
Pisani had a decent regular season- 18 goals, 37 points. However, he kicked his game up a few notches in the playoffs, leading the league with 14 goals in 24 playoff games. The Oilers are stacked with forwards, so it will be very difficult for him to log enough ice time to take a leap to the 30 goal range. Barring injury, he will likely find himself on the third and fourth lines again, so expect another season in the 15 to 20 goal range.
Pisani is a solid checking line forward. He has enough to skill to put a few points on the board as well (he lit the lamp 16 times for Edmonton in the 2003-04 season). However, don't expect him to take his offensive game to a higher level.
