Lessard is pretty much a career AHL-er since he has spent the majority of the last five seasons there. Things won't change much for him in 2009-10 in the Islanders' organization.
Lessard has yet to get an extended look in the NHL despite two solid AHL seasons. There's an open spot or two on Dallas' scoring lines (particulary if Jussi Jokinen and Loui Eriksson struggle), and a solid training camp could net Lessard a more prominent role.
Lessard is coming off a nice 26-32-58 season in 66 games for Iowa last year. He'll compete for a roster spot in training camp.
Will either spend most of the year at Iowa of the AHL or in a depth role with Dallas.
