No cause of death has been released. The six-year veteran played just nine games with the Canucks last season before leaving the team for personal reasons. He was eventually put on the IR. He ended up with the Manitoba Moose of the AHL near the end of the season on a conditioning stint and then signed with the Jets in July. He had 16 points and 226 PIMs in 119 career regular-season games, all with Vancouver.
