Kana, a former second round pick, has returned home to the Czech Republic, and doesn't seem inclined to give the North American game another shot.
Kana returned to Europe last year after failing to make an impact in the AHL, and he'll likely stay for a while.
The Czech winger has a little skill, but is still trying to establish himself in North America.
Checking line prospect clocked in a 15-13-28 line in 50 AHL ganes last season.
Kana will likely skate for Vitkovice HC (Czech) and has no value in NHL-based fantasy leagues at this time.
Kana spent the 2006-07 season in the Czech Extraliga, used mainly in penalty killing and defensive situations. Kana is expected to open the 2007-08 season in North American with the Peoria Rivermen of the AHL. No real fantasy value here, folks.
St. Louis’ second round selection, 31st overall, in the 2006 entry draft. Not yet ready for NHL duty, he will continue to develop in the minors.
Kana is one of those heart-and-soul guys who's already in the air by the time you say jump. He absolutely loves to give chase on the puck and displays the tenacity of a terrier with a bone when working to get the puck. His offensive upside is somewhat limited and he's years away, but his energy will likely win him a depth role for the Blues at some point in the future.
