Callahan's career ended last June when the Bolts announced that they had placed him on long-term injured reserve. Forever injury prone, Callahan's back was the final straw. The pain he'd had for years was no longer tolerable, and doctors advised him he should just hang up his skates. He won't fulfill his dream to have his name etched on Lord Stanley, but he'll be able to play with and pick up his kids. That's ultimately more important. Callahan finishes his hard-nosed career with 186 goals and 200 assists in 757 NHL games.
