Voros has been acquired by the Leafs from the Ducks in exchange for a conditional seventh-round draft pick in the 2011 draft, according to a Leafs press release.
ANALYSIS
This is a no-risk move for the Leafs, as Voros wasn't really wanted in Anaheim any more and the Leafs only give up the pick if he re-signs in Toronto. He'll start in the AHL in what is essentially a tryout to see if he can fit into the team's future plans. He's certainly not a scorer, but with 395 penalty minutes in 162 NHL games, he has some value there if he does land a spot with the big team at some point.

Voros landed with Ducks via a trade that sent defensemen Steve Eminger to the Rangers. He figures to inject a little more toughness to the roster. In 2009-2010, he had three goals, four assists, and 89 PIMs by playing a high-energy, physical game that agitates opponents. For 2010-11, Voros' value is his ability to finish checks and offer physical support. He will not be the player that will light the lamp with any regularity.
