Zubov is no longer thought of as a much of a prospect in the Ottawa system. He didn't want to play in the AHL in 2009-10 and asked to be released so he could return to Russia and play in the KHL. He'll once again spend the year playing for CSKA Moscow. While he has some nice offensive upside, don't expect him to ever come back to North America and thus he has little to no fantasy potential.

Zubov is going to be one of Ottawa's young forward prospects who'll have a chance to make the team out of camp. He's a slick puck handler with nice offensive potential, but he'll need to work on his defensive game before he's given a shot at the big club. If he doesn't make the club, look for him to be one of the first injury call-ups from the B-Sens.

Zubov scored 15 goals and added 23 assists in 2007-08 for Ottawa's AHL affiliate in Binghamton. The talented winger stayed in Ottawa over the summer to workout with Ottawa's Chris Neil and is in excellent shape heading into this season. If Zubov has a strong training camp, he should be on the shortlist of forwards that will have a shot at breaking through with Ottawa this season. If not, he'll be back in Binghamton waiting his turn.

Now that he is over in North America, the supremely-skilled Russian, who also has good defensive abilities, could challenge for a spot on Ottawa's roster out of training camp. With that said, Zubov will likely begin the season with Ottawa's AHL affiliate in Binghamton.
