Weber had three points in 41 games last year, his worst output since the lockout-shortened campaign in 2013-14. Never one to etch his name on the scoresheet frequently, Weber tested the waters in free agency. He didn't land a deal anywhere, but the Predators brought him back on a tryout and may sign him near the end of training camp. Weber won't have a guaranteed job to begin 2020-21, but with injuries a concern among the Predators' depth defenders, he could still draw into a fair number of games. Fantasy managers will safely be able to pass on the 32-year-old Weber, as he hasn't topped double-digit points since 2014-15, when he had 21 in 65 games for the Canucks.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Expected to leave in free agency
General manager David Poile expects Weber to sign elsewhere as an unrestricted free agent this offseason, Thomas Willis of the Predators' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Weber only appeared in 41 games as Nashville's seventh defenseman in 2019-20, picking up three points over that span, so this news doesn't really come as a surprise. The 32-year-old will likely have a similar role with whatever team he signs with in 2020-21, so virtual managers shouldn't expect him to emerge as a viable fantasy option.
