Tedenby signed a contract with HV71 of the Swedish Elite League on Thursday, Linus Hugosson of Pro Hockey Magazine reports.
ANALYSIS
Tedenby originally reached an agreement with KHL club Lev Praha earlier in the offseason, but the deal was voided after the team folded. The winger still decided he wanted to pursue an opportunity overseas, after he appeared in just 15 games with the Devils in 2013-14.

Tedenby has shown flashes of talent over the last three seasons, however he has yet to establish himself as a forward on whom the Devils can rely. New Jersey is expecting production out of him this season, but Tedenby also needs to shore up his defensive game if he wishes to remain in the lineup. His offensive skill set has only translated to a modest 45 points in 105 career games. He is on a one-year contract and needs to prove himself this season to ensure a future role within the organization.
Still 22-years old, Tedenby disappointed in limited action with New Jersey last season, posting six points in 43 games. Whether he opens the season with a regular role on the team’s scoring lines remains to be seen, but he clearly has talent. He just needs to combine consistency with opportunity.
Tedenby, who will turn 22 years old in February, is one of New Jersey's brighter offensive prospects. He should be get a fair amount of playing time and should be involved on the power play after producing 22 total points in 58 games during the 2010-11 campaign. He has some proving to do, but 15-20 goals is not out of the question from the talented young Swede. Remember his name in keeper leagues, and don't forget about him entirely in standard leagues.
Tedenby has an opportunity to make the team's roster out of training camp and is one of the organization's top offensive prospects. He's shown good chemistry with fellow young Swede Jacob Josefsen. Definitely remember Tedenby's name if you're in a keeper league, as he performed well at the team's prospect camp in July.
