RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

There was no outlook written for Tyler Beskorowany.

Besky, which one can safely assume *is* his nickname, was outplayed between the pipes by AHL teammate Jack Campbell. His pedestrian .886 save percentage and 3.39 GAA for the Texas Stars were a step back from his brief AHL debut a season prior and he could lose his spot at the AHL level entirely to recently-signed Christopher Nihlstrop.

Beskorowany started the year in the ECHL and ended the year as the backup to Richard Bachman with Dallas' AHL affiliate. He remains behind Bachman on the organizational depth chart, and both have Jack Campbell to worry about in the next year or two.

Beskorowany and fellow netminding prospect Richard Bachman both moved down a spot when Dallas selected Jack Campbell in the first round of the 2010 draft. While there was some debate on which of the Beskorowany/Backman duo would eventually emerge as Dallas' 31 goalie, they both play second fiddle to potential franchise netminder Campbell. Beskorowany will likely spend most of the time with Idaho of the ECHL after completing his junior career last year.

Beskorowany was Dallas' second round pick in 2008, and pairs with Richard Bachman as the logical in-house candidates to eventual take over for Marty Turco. At 6'4", Tyler projects to be an imposing figure in net if he develops.

Selected by Dallas in the 2008 draft, so have to at least consider him a decent prospect given Dallas' success in turning out goalies the past decade. There's not a clear cut successor to Marty Turco following last year's trade of Mike Smith to Tampa Bay, but it's far too early to tell if Beskorowany will be the guy.
