Fortunus led AHL Texas to a 2014 Calder Cup victory in his third season as team captain. He was also a captain of the AHL All-Star team this season. The veteran defenseman posted nine goals and 25 assists in 65 AHL games, but has totaled just nine career NHL games. He'll certainly get signed somewhere, but doesn't figure to make much of a fantasy impact.

Fortunus has spent the past three seasons in the AHL, racking up some decent numbers along the way. But the Stars have yet to really commit to him at the NHL level despite numerous needs on the blueline over the past few seasons. And there's no reason to think they'll turn to him should a need arise this season with several younger prospects now at the high-minor levels.
