Sproul had a stellar season in Grand Rapids in 2013-14, picking up 32 points in 72 games. While Detroit's blue line situation is fairly set, Sproul will at least get a hard look in the fall and will be one of the first call-ups if he doesn't make the team.

Sproul spent much of the 2012-13 season in the OHL and needs another year or two in the minors to gain some experience.
