The 42-year-old Joseph hasn't played this season after appearing in 21 games with the Maple Leafs last season. He is fourth on the all-time wins list with 445 and was a three-time nominee for the Vezina Trophy, finishing second in the voting in 1999 and 2000. Joseph posted a 2.45 goals-against average in 123 career playoff games. He took the Leafs to two Eastern Conference Finals in four seasons, losing in 1999 to the Sabres in five games and falling to the Hurricanes in six games in 2002.

At 41, Cujo is riding the coat tails of a once-glorious career. He's a pure back-up who was brought into town to do three things: spell off Vesa Toskala every once in a while, keep the fans happy and mentor Justin Pogge. None of those gigs offer fantasy value.
CuJo had the lion's share of the wins for the Coyotes last season and is ready to be features again between the pipes. The team in front of him has improved in every area, so he should be in line for a few more wins. There is competition at backup, so if he falters, there is someone to snap up the starting job. CuJo will make a nice second or third goalie on fantasy squads.
As part of its move to win now, Phoenix signed CuJo after his 2003-04 season was plagued with injuries. He missed 28 games in the 2003-04 season. CuJo though, did have a quality 2004 playoffs with a 1.39 GAA and .939 saving percentage. Entering his 16th NHL season, how much that is left in his tank is hard to tell, and it could be that his best days are behind him. Plus, the Coyotes have a talented backup goalie in Brian Bouchard. Like Brett Hull, Joseph's name might put him higher in your draft than his worth. Let someone else take him.

Joseph entered Friday's game in the first period after Martin Gerber got off to a sketchy start. Unfortunately for Cujo, the Flyers continued to pound the Leafs and he found himself back on the bench to start the second. He stopped three of five shots he faced.
