Hayes has signed an AHL contract with the Chicago Wolves, the team announced Thursday.
ANALYSIS
The contract is an AHL-only deal and not a two-way NHL deal, which means that Hayes is unlikely to find himself with the Blues this season.

2014 Fantasy Outlook
The Sharks are moving toward deploying more youth and Hayes could see increased ice time as a result. He cracked the NHL lineup for the first time in last season, but tallied just a single goal on 17 shots in 15 games. Hayes is near the top of the list of young forwards who could get some good time in San Jose this season, but there are no guarantees. He's more of a depth guy in the top-nine than a scoring stud in the top-six. And that means his fantasy value is ultimately limited to the deepest of leagues.
