Nicholas Baptiste

It's a big year for Baptiste as he hunts for another contract after signing a one-year “show me” deal with Buffalo. He impressed in 36 games in the AHL last season and earned an extended audition throughout the season, playing in 33 games for the Sabres. He scored four goals and six points, and although he did get lucky with some of those goals he showed enough grit and ability to be a contender for a regular roster spot. The 2013 third-round pick tops out as a third-line winger, but he can be very effective in that role, and there's the potential for him to score around 10 goals if if he manages to secure a roster spot.
