While he was originally drafted by the Sharks as a 2014 third-rounder, Sadowy didn't get an opportunity to develop in San Jose's minor-league system and was dealt to the Red Wings in May of 2016. The Ontario native enthralled scouts by ripping through the OHL circuit -- depositing 116 goals and 72 assists through 258 games between the Saginaw Spirit and Barrie Colts (2012-16) -- and many believe he could've gone in the first round had the Wings not spared him the trouble of reentering the draft. Still, with one year remaining on an entry-level contract after biding his time in the minors for two seasons, Sadowy will report to ECHL Toledo to start the 2018-19 campaign.
