Joakim Ryan

Ryan appeared in just 35 games with the Kings last year, and he was limited to five points, 46 blocked shots and a minus-10 rating. He signed with the Hurricanes this offseason, but it's tough to see Ryan enjoying anything more than a rotational depth role in 2020-21. There's virtually no offensive upside in the 27-year-old's game, and the uncertainty surrounding his role will force fantasy managers to make wide circles around the New Jersey native. Don't expect Ryan to break double digits in points, and his non-scoring numbers won't offset that weakness.

Ryan was solid yet unspectacular during his rookie season in 2017-18, totaling three goals and 12 points while posting a plus-13 rating in 62 contests. The 2012 seventh-round pick's offensive output should continue to improve during his sophomore campaign, but it's highly unlikely that he'll score at a pace that will make him worth owning outside of deep fantasy formats. Ryan should continue to munch minutes as part of San Jose's top pairing this season, but his ice time won't be enough to make him a viable option in the majority of fantasy settings.
