The 28-year-old split last season between Calgary and AHL Stockton, serving as a depth defenseman on a team loaded with quality options on the back end. He appeared in 35 games with Stockton and 27 games with Calgary, and also played well enough to be named to the Czech national team for the World Cup, but still hasn’t proven that he can be a reliable top-six defenseman in the NHL.
