Injuries to Carolina blueliners will give Tverdovsky a chance to win back the top-six position he frittered away last season. He will probably be better than last year, but 50-point seasons will remain a distant memory.
Tverdovsky offers a fair potential for sleeper value, as he hasn't played in the NHL for two full seasons now. He is an excellent offensive defenseman who will likely quarterback the power play unit. He isn't among the elite defensemen, but is a solid late-round pick in all but the shallowest of leagues.
