Finishes career with three shots on goal
Sedin recorded three shots on goal during his final NHL game against the Oilers on Saturday. Edmonton won in a shootout, 3-2.
ANALYSIS
After his brother scored to open the shootout, Sedin couldn't beat Cam Talbot on his shootout attempt, which was the final act of his brilliant NHL career. This season was a rough one, though, as Sedin only posted three goals and a minus-22 rating. His shot attempts were way down, but his shooting percentage was also a career-low 4.5 percent. He also possessed a minus-49 rating in his final two seasons combined. On a positive note, his 47 assists did keep him respectable in the points category this season. Sedin ends his career with 240 goals and 1,070 points in 1,329 games.

The Canucks were a mess in 2016-17, but Sedin managed to remain one of the more productive players, reaching 50 points for the fourth consecutive season. The veteran center did post a career-worst minus-27 rating, but it’s hard to be critical, considering the struggles of the team and how fans were embracing a “tank” mentality. At 36 years old, he’s certainly trending in the wrong direction, but Henrik remains an elite playmaker who forms a lethal duo with twin brother Daniel. The power play should benefit somewhat from the offseason additions of Sam Gagner and Michael Del Zotto, so look for Henrik to rebound with the man advantage after struggling in 2016-17. His best days are behind him, but with 14 straight 30-plus-assist seasons, Henrik remains a consistent and viable fantasy producer.
