2025 Fantasy Outlook
Wedgewood's time in Nashville lasted all of five games after signing with the Predators as a free agent. He was the first domino to fall in the Avalanche's quest for better goaltending, swapping places with Justus Annunen in a November trade. Wedgewood is a quality backup, and he went 14-6-2 with a 2.32 GAA and a .908 save percentage over 24 appearances in the regular season. With former and current teammate Mackenzie Blackwood also on the roster, Wedgewood doesn't have a particularly easy path to playing time. Still, Wedgewood's performance and the strong team in front of him should make him an option in deep fantasy formats where backup netminders carry value. Read Past Outlooks
Earns win vs. New Jersey
Wedgewood stopped 26 of 30 shots in Tuesday's 8-4 win over the Devils.
ANALYSIS
Wedgewood returned to guarding the Avs' goal after not playing in the 4-3 loss to New Jersey on Sunday, but this time, Colorado provided enough support on offense to allow Wedgewood to get the win despite conceding four goals. The 33-year-old netminder hasn't been at his best of late. He's allowed four goals in three of his last four outings, a span in which he's posted a 4.70 GAA and .839 save percentage.

Wedgewood inked a two-year deal with the Preds on July 1 after racking up a 16-7-5 record, 2.85 GAA and .899 save percentage with the Stars in 2023-24. He's the clear No. 2 man, sandwiched between the elite Juuse Saros and the heir apparent Yaroslav Askarov. So, what can we expect? Wedgewood would be in line for no more than 20 starts in Nashville without Askarov nipping at his heels. The Preds may want to give the kid some games. Wedgewood might be a daily option for some managers this season. Nothing more.

ANALYSIS
Wedgewood has started all but one of Colorado's games this season, as he's sporting a 5-1-2 record, 2.42 GAA and .904 save percentage over nine appearances. The Devils are arguably the hottest team in the NHL -- they've won eight straight games after dropping their season opener to Carolina. New Jersey is 8-1-0 and ranks first in the league with 3.89 goals per game in 2025-26.
