An offseason assault charge hangs over Greer's head as the 2019-20 campaign looms, and he still has a long way to go to captivate the masses. Avalanche GM Joe Sakic threw caution the wind by signing Greer to a one-year, two-way extension once the calendar flipped to August, but the winger could surprise in the right situation.
