Philippe Myers
22-Year-Old DefensemanD
2018 Fantasy Outlook
A groin injury kept Myers sidelined for much of the first half of last season, but he came on strong to record eight goals and 28 points in 63 AHL games including the playoffs. The 21-year-old was playing so well by spring, it was surprising he didn't receive a chance to appear at the NHL level. Myers could receive that shot in 2018-19, but the Flyers are stacked with talented young defensemen. While it will probably take an injury for Myers to get his NHL chance, he's worth monitoring. Joining Team Canada
DPhiladelphia Flyers
May 15, 2019
Myers will join Team Canada's roster for the IIHF World Championship.
ANALYSIS
Brandon Montour has been ruled out for the remainder of the World Championship tournament due to a lower-body injury, so Myers will take his spot on Canada's roster. The 22-year-old blueliner only notched two points in 21 appearances with the Flyers this campaign, but he'll almost certainly make the big club's roster out of training camp next season.
