Signs with Swiss club
Zadina (lower body) signed a two-year contract with HC Davos of Switzerland's National League on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Zadina produced a career-high 13 goals and posted 23 points in 72 -regular-season games with the Sharks in 2023-24. He sat out the final five contests of the campaign due to injury and didn't receive a qualifying offer from San Jose in June, making him an unrestricted free agent.

The lowly Sharks attempted to buy low on Zadina last season following the buyout he received from the Red Wings and it never really worked out. Signed to a one-year, $1.1 million contract, Zadina provided 13 goals and 23 points in 72 games, to go along with a horrific minus-44 rating. The Sharks neglected to make him a qualifying offer, allowing Zadina to hit free agency once again. It seems quite clear at this point Zadina will never live up to his draft billing (No. 6 overall in 2018) -- especially after signing a two-year deal with Swiss club HC Davos -- but he's still just 24 years old.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Buffalo link disputed
Zadina is not joining the Sabres according to agent Darren Ferris, refuting earlier reports, per Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Zadina's link to Buffalo lasted less than an hour as both a team source and the player's agent were quick to dispel any rumors of a tryout deal being in hand. Apparently, the winger is close to finalizing a deal elsewhere, though it's not immediately clear if he will be signing an NHL contract or a PTO. Wherever Zadina ends up, he should be in contention to snag a bottom-six role, though it may have to be on a two-way contract that would allow him to be easily moved between the NHL and AHL.
