After two full years out of the NHL, Regula made his way back with the Oilers in 2025-26. He was coming off a lengthy absence that cost him all of 2024-25 due to a knee injury. Regula then sustained an undisclosed injury early last year and never really got into a rhythm in a depth role. Ultimately, he was often a healthy scratch until he was waived in March to report to AHL Bakersfield. He had three assists in 29 regular-season games for Edmonton, but his minus-16 rating was concerning.
