Zhitnik came over to the Thrashers in the deadline deal for prospect Braydon Coburn. All he did was score 14 points (eight on the power play) in 18 games. That’s 64 points over an 82 game season. We’re not expecting a 64 point season but there is no reason not to expect Zhitnik to top 45-50 points. He is the power play QB and all those PP minutes passing to Hossa and/or Kovalchuk has to equate to a ton of points. He should also go under a lot of people’s radar as his totals from last season (38 points and plus-1) are a bit low due to his time with the Isles and especially the Flyers. He’s a great sleeper that would look great as your 3rd or 4th d-man.

It was expected that Zhitnik defensive shortcomings might come to the forefront on the Island, but he was actually the lone Islanders with more than 50 games played to finish on the plus side (+5). Draft him for 30 points, but hope for more and don't be surprised if his plus/minus falls back to the minus this year.

Zhitnik has the ability to be a good contributor offensively, but tends to be a streaky player. May do the Isles more harm than good in terms of his defensive deficiencies and lapses (his last season with a positive plus/minus rating was 1997-98). His best years are behind him, but he still has enough skill in the tank for a 30 point season. The question, however, is does he have the determination for it? We'd draft him for 25 points, and hope that playing with Yashin and Satan raises his game a notch.
