2025 Fantasy Outlook
Although Svechnikov was able to play in 72 regular-season games last season, his highest total since 2021-22, he managed just 48 points, making this his worst showing in terms of points per game since his 2018-19 rookie campaign. He did pick things up in the 2025 playoffs with eight goals and 12 points across 15 outings, but between his growing injury history and inconsistent offensive production, it’s difficult to count on him. He’s still just 25 years old, and the talent is there, so while fantasy managers can pencil him in for 50-60 points, there is the potential for him to exceed that range. He also should finish 2025-26 with over 50 PIM and 140 hits -- totals he’s exceeded in each of the previous four campaigns -- which gives him some extra versatility in leagues that use either of those categories. Scoring pace quickening
Svechnikov scored a goal and added an assist Thursday in a 6-2 win over the Islanders.
ANALYSIS
Fantasy managers are breathing a sigh of relief. Svechnikov has three points (two goals, one assist) in his last two games after being held scoreless for eight games to start the season. His ice time has dropped from last season (14:51 compared to 17:07), but that's not a significant cause for concern. Carolina is deep, and Svechnikov will bounce back from this and from last season's 48 points in 72 games.

Svechnikov's 2022-23 season was cut short due to knee surgery. He missed the final 18 contests of the regular season and all 15 games of Carolina's playoff run. Due to the injury, Svechnikov also sat out the first eight outings of the 2023-24 campaign. Despite some additional absences, he accounted for 19 goals, 52 points, 144 shots on net and 142 hits in 59 appearances. The 24-year-old forward has been a great fit alongside Sebastian Aho at even strength and on the power play. Svechnikov has also proven to be a good source of hits and shots. If he can stay relatively healthy in 2024-25, he should flirt with the 70-point plateau for the second time in four seasons.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Likely sitting out Tuesday
Svechnikov could be held out of Tuesday's clash with the Blue Jackets after missing the game-day skate, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Svechnikov is riding a four-game point streak during which he notched two goals and four assists. The 24-year-old winger did miss a contest April 5 against Washington, so that could be a factor in the team's decision to keep him out of the lineup Tuesday. In his stead, Jackson Blake is set to make his NHL debut.
