2026 Fantasy Outlook
A fifth-round draft pick by the Senators in 2018, Crookshank has never been able to work his way into being a full-time NHL player. The 26-year-old has been a relatively steady goal-scoring threat in the AHL, as he’s scored at least 22 times in each of the last four seasons, but that has yet to translate to the next level. Crookshank has just 29 games of NHL experience, eight of which came last season with New Jersey. The British Columbia native led AHL Utica with 24 goals in 2025-26 and finished second on the team in points (36). Crookshank will likely have similar responsibilities this season, which is operating as one of AHL Charlotte's top players while being a call-up option for the Panthers should injuries arise. Acquired in five-player trade
Florida acquired Crookshank and Jacob Markstrom (undisclosed) from New Jersey on Tuesday in exchange for Evan Rodrigues, (finger), Jesper Boqvist and Ben Steeves, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
Crookshank has developed into a strong player at the AHL level, but he hasn’t had many chances in the NHL. The 25-year-old (26 on Oct. 2) had 22 goals, 40 points and 36 PIM across 62 appearances with AHL Belleville as well as an assist, nine shots, 11 hits and four blocks in eight games with Ottawa during the 2024-25 regular season. Now with New Jersey after inking a two-year deal over the summer, Crookshank is likely to open the upcoming season in the minors. He might get the occasional stint with the Devils if injuries warrant the promotion, but he’s unlikely to receive better than a fourth-line assignment if he does draw into the NHL lineup.
