2025 Fantasy Outlook
Florida’s three straight appearances in the finals, as well as back-to-back championships, have been accomplished in no small part thanks to the Panthers’ strong supporting cast. Lundell has been a key part of that depth. The 23-year-old (24 on Oct. 3) hasn’t emerged as a star since being selected with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, but he did record 17 goals, 45 points, 36 PIM, 158 shots and 110 hits across 79 regular-season appearances last year. He’s proven to be a forward who will step up during the postseason, contributing nine goals and 35 points in 47 playoff outings over the past two years. The downside of Florida’s depth is that he’s arguably underutilized, often playing on the third line and second power-play unit. Unless his role grows, which is difficult in Florida, it’s hard to see him finding another level offensively. Read Past Outlooks

Big night on power play
Lundell delivered a goal and an assist, both on the power play, in Saturday's 6-2 romp over the Senators.
ANALYSIS
The 24-year-old center potted Florida's fourth goal late in the second period before setting up Mackie Samoskevich for the team's fifth early in the third. Lundell has taken on a bigger role due to Aleksander Barkov (knee) likely being done for the season, and he's responded with two goals and three points in the Panthers' first three games, all with the man advantage.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
2022
Lundell scored 13 goals and 35 points in 78 regular-season games in the last campaign. He also earned three goals and tied for second on the team with 14 assists during the playoffs en route to helping the Panthers win the Stanley Cup. Florida signed Lundell to a six-year, $30 million contract in July to remain part of the team's core group. The 22-year-old forward has yet to reach 20 goals or 45 points in a season, but his rookie campaign and latest playoff performance demonstrated his offensive potential. Lundell mostly plays on the third line, but he has stepped up before when given the chance to play higher in the lineup. From a fantasy perspective, he shouldn't be on your draft radar going into 2024-25, however, he has some upside as a waiver-wire option if he can showcase more consistency.

Garners praise from coach
When asked about Lundell, coach Andrew Brunette said "His hockey sense is off the charts. He's going to put in some work in the gym, get a little quicker and a little stronger. He could be a special player," Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Lundell was fantastic as a rookie in 2021-22, racking up 18 goals and 44 points while posting an eye-popping plus-33 rating through 65 regular-season contests before adding one goal while skating in a reduced role through nine playoff games. If he's able to secure more time with the man advantage in 2022-23, his per-game production should only continue to improve.
