Moran is certainly not a prospect at 31 years of age, but the Oilers have decided to see if they can strike gold by signing him this past off-season. Seems unlikely, but the Oilers know they need to take some gambles if they want to improve upon last season.
Moran has had some offensive success in the minor leagues and may have some at the NHL level should be ever get there. If he arrives this season, keep an eye as to which line he skates with and what sort of role he plays, otherwise he has little fantasy value at this time.
Moran has proven to be an effective scorer in the AHL, notching 25 goals in 64 games two seasons ago. He hasn't yet gotten a chance to show whether he can produce in the NHL, however, and at 26 time is running out for him to prove he can.
